THE LONELINESS OF "STRANGER IN MOSCOW".

- Kaline Hua -

"I was wandering in the rain
Mask of life, feelin' insane
Swift and sudden fall from grace
Sunny days seem far away.

Kremlin's shadow belittlin' me
Stalin's tomb won't let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish the rain would just let me be
.........
How does it feel? (How does it feel?)
How does it feel?
How does it feel?
When you're alone
And you're cold inside
Like a stranger in Moscow"

(Extracted from the song lyric "Stranger In Moscow" by Michael Jackson)

The songs were extremely touched, full of desperation, Michael Jackson's lonely in the most tragedy days of his life. The song was written by Jackson in 1993, in the period when he suffered to allegations of child sexual abuse against him, when he was touring at when he was touring in Moscow [1] https://genius.com/Michael-jackson-stranger-in-moscow-lyrics. However, we won't go deep into the deep analysis on the lyrics on which I want to emphasize here is about "nothing".

Jackson as a teenager used to share and explain in an interview about his time in the 1980s: "Even at home, I'm lonely. I sit in my room sometimes and  cry. It's so hard to make friends...I sometimes walk around the neighborhood at night, just hoping to find someone to talk to. But I just end up coming home." Although at that time he was considered as one of the richest and most successful entertainment stars in the world, not everyone knows that after the "flashy" people all admires and desires, he always had to endure the loneliness and emptiness in his career life. Until the end of life, perhaps that feeling has never been relieved.
